Our Story

At Helheim Meadery, our journey began with a love for creating something unique. Born and raised in Ventura, California, we’re two best friends with a passion for crafting exceptional alcohol. After diving into the world of mead, we discovered an opportunity: while many were focused on craft beer and wine, mead—the world’s oldest fermented beverage—was surprisingly rare. We saw a chance to bring mead back to the forefront, giving it a modern twist inspired by the flavors of Ventura’s local honey and fruits.

We don’t make your typical, traditional meads. Instead, Helheim Meadery takes a bold, creative approach, pushing boundaries to create unexpected flavors and unique recipes. Every batch of our mead tells its own story, a blend of carefully sourced ingredients and a little of the Norse spirit.
